Ah, what can I say that others haven’t already said in this blog tour? A beautiful journey was this book where my heart belonged to Carter right from the very beginning.
A man who knew how to love selflessly, how to let go when that love wasn’t returned. Yet the one who had the courage to open his heart when hints of it came knocking at his door. But was April right for him?
In the beginning, I didn’t think so. They might have had intense chemistry, were they two parts of a whole? Not initially. That magic happened as the pages unfurled, and she grew on me, wrapping the tendrils of her warmth around my heart.
Surely and steadily through the power of author Emmanuelle Snow’s writing and careful etching of both their characters, I could see how they complemented each other. Yin and yang they developed into, knowing when to hold on and when to hold tight.
The book embodied emotions, each word chosen showed me their feelings. You could say author Emmanuelle laid her heart bare while putting her characters through the wringer. Their love was messy with bagful of angst.
Their past was carefully laid out, paving the way for the future. The story held me enthralled, though many a time I wanted to tell April to rise up to the challenge. But I could understand her stance too as I am not bold in love.
The book was so powerful that it triggered my imagination many a time where April was knocked out and I was in Carter’s arms doing the nasty. Maybe I should just end my review here, instead of revealing how hot and sexy he was in detail. After all this is a family blog… Just saying.
A roller coaster ride this book was, where all I could do was read every word and feel those beautiful shades of colors that love brought with it. Kudos to author Emmanuelle Snow. A banging debut!! (pun intended😂)
